The Realty World NCA event on Friday, August 14, was for me the jump-off point for the future of our network. The event was filled with high energy, as we had a full and fast-paced agenda. The keynote speakers were top shelf and delivered relevant information pertaining to today’s market conditions that I believe our Realty World members were able to use the very next day.

In addition, numerous new services and unique technologies, representing 20 months of hard work and investment were on display for all to see and hear more about. Five hundred Realty World NCA brokers and agents attended the event, which was an all time record our territories. Traditionally, franchise organizations consider an event a success if eight to 12 percent of members attend. Last Friday 38 percent of our members attended … I guess you can say it was a successful event!

As I witnessed things unfold early on the day of the annual Realty World NCA event, it was impressive to watch brokers and agents all meeting and greeting each other. The thing that hit me the hardest is that this group of people that considers themselves real estate professionals, also considers each other close friends, to the point of being ‘family’ members. The conversations started off not with business talk, but instead with catching up on subjects such as family members, trips taken, mutual friends, etc., before moving to conversations of the market.

As the morning progressed, brokers worked in harmony in the Broker Council Meeting because they had a mutual cause, instead of as individual owners. Sharing ideas showed that everyone could work together to make the system work, even when there were two brokers existing within blocks of each other.

The general buzz of the day was great. In the vendor area people gained knowledge from service providers, working together in educating each other how they used that particular service in their office, with their agents, or how it cut costs by doing it a particular way. The sharing of ideas and thoughts carried from one table to another.

The unity of how the speakers were received was powerful. Individuals took topics presented into their lives as individuals, and had the opportunity to share their ideas and thoughts during breaks.

This continued throughout the day with everyone in attendance, all truly appreciating the opportunity to be together as friends and fellow professionals.

Recently, the entire staff at Realty World Regional Headquarters came together to put on an event where franchise owners, brokers, agents, and guests could come and see not only what and who we are, but also to come together as a family. Over the years, I have emailed or spoken with so many members but it was an unbelievable feeling to finally meet so many face-to-face. Countless number of hours went into the planning and organizing for the event. I am glad that it is over but I can’t wait for the next one! I would like to thank everyone involved in making the Realty World Event 2009 an event to remember!
