Google Docs Upgrade

Published by Tei Baishiki under Technology.

An upgrade to Google Docs has been released making finding documents even easier.

The first new feature “Priority Sorting” is similar to Gmail’s Priority Inbox where the most likely documents you are looking for are displayed at the top of your search.

There are also new filters to help find documents by file type, visibility (public, private, etc.), and by name.

The folders which were on the left hand side have been replaced by a “Collections” column that resembles labels in Gmail. You can now tag your documents to be labeled under multiple collections (just like Gmail) and you can share them with people you collaborate with.

A new column on the right side of the screen provides a preview of highlighted documents. Also displayed are stats on each document such as collaborators and the last date it was modified.

I think one of the more interesting new features is the ability for photos to be viewed individually or in a new slideshow view album view.
